The Five Degree Solution
For those who think the GWX or any destroyers/escorts are unbeatable or superpowered, this is for you.
I set my rudder to five degrees, either side of zero, and keep it that way during an enemy attack. They can't find you because they cannot focus on an ever turning target.
To turn hard left or right has two disadvantages: the first being you might create a knuckle of sound at high speed; the second being you slow down during that turn.
At five degrees the enemy is always aiming for where you used to be. Try it.
I just went through several hours of it attacking a convoy. I expended all my torpedoes and had only minor damage. That includes all that reload time too.
If you want to make headway in a given direction, set your course, and then use five degree zigs and zags along that course. Even 10 degrees might work, although it might give you too much of a swing. The idea being to avoid staying in the same area.
If the targets are behind you or at high angle directions from your path, turn towards their course path. You won't lose them but will slowly swing around to face them again.
Incidentally, I started out to test the new SHAKE mod when depth charged. I got caught up in the excitement and never did get any close enough to shake me.
