Initially you want to set up the attack as if a normal torpedo and let it go. She will do the rest. Excellent against the nasty warships...so fun to see there rear get blown off  I recommend you shut your electric motors down so said torpedo is not homing in on your rear and blowing it off! |
If you want to stay to the official orders then order silent running and dive to 60 ft immediately after launching a homing torp and don't launch more than one.
In real like launching more than one homing torp often caused them to follow each other in circles like a dog chasing it's tail. This is not modeled in SH3, but I only launch them one at a time anyway to stay historical.
