Using a sextant is as easy-as-pie.. Using the North Pole star (polaris), whatever angle/position it is on the sextant is your latitude (north/south) position. SH3 does not seem to have any of the anomaly's like atmospheric refraction, etc... and the map has been flattened so that it's linear. Establishing longitude is a simple matter of comparing the SH3 local time and the Greenwich time -> 15 degrees earth rotation equals 1 hour. Star maps will be provided. This is a scanned, 'fitted' and very much reduced Northern Hemisphere map. The Mod one is big, but I'd encourage you all to buy this, as it's cheapy.
