Thanks, that did it! of course explorer changes back to Icons, I will now proceed to change view to "Details" set to default settings & then change Control Panel back to "Icons"! Sheesh!

Don't suppose you know how to change the default startup folder for Windows Explorer? I searched through register & changed a few things with no success! Oh yes, I set them back again!!
Editing the register is a must but dangerous!
Amazing how it grows in size, usually from installing/uninstalling applications, but uninstalling never seems to remove "all trace".
