I think you should uninstall, remove any entry to Silent Hunter III from your registry, clean up your HD and then do a defrag. Noe do a clean install, patch to 1.4 and then add GWX. Never mind that other thing you loaded. Then everything will be back to normal. Oh before you do any of this, make a backup of your SH3 folder in My DOcuments. Then when you make a clean install, rename it to something like Ubisoft-Orig and then copy the silent Hunter Folder to a new Ubisoft folder. Now you will have two copies of Silent Hunter, your original, which you do nothing to and the copied one where you put all your add ons like GWX, or whatever. Then copy your backed up career folder back into th SH3 folder in My Documents. Now to keep it running smoothly, you should defrag once a month.
