I'd be grateful for some help with installing GWX. I'm pretty new to SH3, never mind Grey Wolves.
This is what I did. I decided that the way to install GWX was
- Uninstalled SH3 and removed Starforce with the removal tool
- Fresh install of SH3
- Immediately patched to version 1.4b (the correct one)
- I wasn't sure if I should run SH3 onece before instaling GWX, but decided not to, in order to have the cleanest possible install
- Installed GWX immediately after patching to 1.4b
BUT - the installation of GWX failed, with a warning message saying that it coudn't overwrite a particular ship file (can't remember which - sorry).
So, if someone could give me the correct sequence, I'd be rally grateful. I have re-downloaded all the GWX file and MD5 Compare has shown the files to be correct.

Finally, as a matter of interest, can GWX work with the No-CD version/hack of 1.4b and if so, at what point would I replace the normal .exe with the no-cd version? In case anybody is worried, I do have the original. I don't know whether the community approves of the hack, or not. I just don't like to risk precious disks by having to use them evertime I play, but if this is not approved of, I wouldn't use it.
