I was in a IIa when this happened. I also wasn't cruising along the surface. I was sitting at "Parascope Depth" completely stationary. This means that I was actually sitting about 2-3 meters above "Parascope Depth" (another very realistic addition from the new GWX mod). This means that my conning tower would break the surface of the water occasionally, and the plane must have seen the top of my conning tower bobbing up and down.

In my opinion, this incident shows how realistic the new GWX mod has made this game. You really have to stay on your toes.

I guess I didn't have a choice as far as avoiding the shallow water. I go where BDU tells me to go, and the sector I was assigned was very shallow.
