They also do in NYGM, and I can tell you 82m is not deep enough. You have to be well over 100m and not run more than 1 knt with silent running if you want to get away by nice weather.
Your best allies are wind and heavy seas.
Have not tested in GWX yet, but I would think we will come to more or less the same tactics.
