Set speed to 2 or 1 kts---keep your stern facing the dd as you manuver (to give it the narrowest profile)----speed up to flank and do sharp course change while it is in it's attack run and dc'ing--then back to 2 kt or below w/ butt facing the dd--with luck & patience-eventually you should be able to get out of it's circleling and slink away.
