I have not encountered the sound problem you explained. You will be notified when you reach the mission complete, or you might have to read it, I am not sure which.
If you have not played it play the first mission it is a really good tutorial and uses every weapon in the 688i arsenal.

I hope you have as much fun with 688i as I have.
