It's the one aspect of gameplay that always annoyed me, when using TC and enemy is detected it should drop back imediately, but with me it is always far too late, many times my boat is destroyed, a game fault!
Der Teddy Bar has a fix in the latest NYGM Campaign but never released it as a separate mod, I asked for the relative parts to the mod & He sent them to me, If anyone wants the mod I could post it, I don't think Teddy would mind, however I had better PM him first for approval.
