Hereīs my two cents concerning the original post...
1. Go SLOWLY to the bottom
2. Make sure you are at zero knots when touching the seafloor
3. Once you are there, press "D", which avoids bouncing
4. When you want to leave the bottom you should think about using "E" (blow ballast) instead of "S" - the reason is simple: when you just surface ("s") at zero knots, your boat is likely to start scratching and taking damage while still close to the bottom. Besides, it takes ages to get her up.
If you donīt want to suddenly break the surface, make sure you order a certain depth after hitting "e". This prevents you from just rushing to the surface.
