I carry acoustically guided torpedoes on board for my main means of hunting, but I do carry backup on my XXI. I'm thinking about trading it in for a VII-C/42 since it has a stern tube.

EDIT: To be specific on my torpedo type: T-V. I carry T-III torps for slower moving merchants and other vessels. For smaller ships such as fishing vessels I prefer to use the deckgun to conserve torps.
