1. If you need to know about different mods check out the help guide
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=96026 usually GW works fine with geaphical mods.
2. I don't think they work together. You need two different installations.
Try installing mods using the mod enabler. That way if you don't like something you can uninstall it without having to take out the original SH.
