First of all there are no stupid questions. So don't worry about asking whatever you like. Grey Wolves (GW) is a supermod. It is an add-on to SH3 and gives a totally different approach to the game. Check out this URL for more information

Also don't forget that GW is FREE. GWX is the new expansion of GW. It should be released at some point in December and my opinion so far (as I'm a beta tester for the team) is that it is BRILLIANT. It takes you to a totally different place. Trust me you will not be disappointed
