I've made a test a while ago, opening the hatch in the 3d model, but the other compartment is not rendered, resulting in a black hole.

There's some black void area between the two compartments right? Coz you can glide your Shift-F2 camera from one place to the other. I guess though a 3ft tube wouldn't really be that realistic.
