It's setable as the following variable in a CFG file:
[Properties]
PeriscopeDepth=12;meters
SnorkelDepth=10;meters
CrashDepth=20;meters
MaxDepth=300;meters
For instance that's from the data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7b\NSS_Uboat7b.CFG file of a NYGM 2.2 install.
SH3 Commander edits that as well to make it more variable. I've been below 300m before, I think I took a VIIC down to 346m before it went pop.
