June 1942 - summer vacation for RN and RAF?
My last patrol (from May 29th to June 26th 1942) was very strange. Grid to patrol was AL53. On the way to it and in it there there was no sign of activity. OK lets leave it, but I got bored. Headed to good old fishing seas around AM52. After two weeks I gave up - the only ship I saw was a hospital bound to America. I'm very cautious but then I decided to head nearest Royal Navy base - Loch Ewe. Headed on surface at full speed between Hebrides and Scotland, waiting for air attack - nothing. My flak gunners got very very bored so I decided at last to bring ordinary watch crew to the bridge. When I reached Loch Ewe entrance, I was SO bored. I stayed on surface and my gun crew destroyed two armed trawlers almost at once. Then a torpedo boat joined the action - but my gun crew and me (manning one of my boat's Flakzwilling) made her an short end. Then I headed towards base on periscope depth running silent, sank Nelson-class battleship, Fiji-class cruiser and v&W-class destroyer in two rounds. But somehow I felt that my actions were way too cautious that morning. No sign of ANY ACTIVITY from britons... Got away successfully. On my way home found only one ship - a hospital again... Dear friends, its 1942, not 1940
