I would not buy a new DVD-ROM. Go and borrow one from a friend and try it.
You may just waste money on something that is not needed.
The error code 1335 is pointing to a Corrupt CD/DVD-Rom disk or a Windows XP file problem. These codes are very specific to the problem.
The fact that you have tried other CDs/DVDs and say they do not work.
Then try windows REINSTALL with out formating.
