you have a faulty sub icon installed... try it with a different sub type to confirm this.
If it works with another type of sub then just copy the file that works over the file that doesn't. The suspect file should be: "c:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Submarine\NSS_U boatXX" were XX denotes the type of U-boat in question.
