Yeah im pretty sure I just boned myself. After clicking ok on the message that says "base hase been changed to kiel" about 10 times it finally begins to load but then crashes the game before it finishes. I deleted that save and am in the process of reloading at the base as we speak. Maybe I didnt do quite enough reading on the subject before I installed. I saw that it was finally done downloading today so I just had to load it

Looks like im back to sqare one...kriegsmarine grid square 1 that is. Im going to go throw up my lunch, cry in the shower, and see about starting my carreer over agian. Thanks for the quick response.
