The Midterm congressional elections are coming up and I thought I'd run a poll (open to anyone US or otherwise who has an opinion) on how you think the elections will turn out (not how you
want them to turn out). The election is a really big deal in my congressional district, Illinois District 6, which covers most of Du Page County. Alot of national and foreign press have been covering it because of who is running on the Democratic ticket, Tammy Duckworth, an Iraq war veteran who lost both her legs in an RPG attack on her Blackhawk. Shes running against a socially conservative Republican, Peter Roskam, to replace the long serving Republican congressman Henry Hyde (of Clinton impeachment fame). It's a very big deal because my district is considered to be one of the most solidly Republican in the nation, and if a Democrat wins it would be earth shaking. Can't wait to see what happens, but I will be proud to cast my vote for Duckworth on election day!
BTW, I belive the Democrats will gain control of both houses of congress.
