yup i was told reliably that inmates have a points scoring system ..earn enough browny points and they do indeed get their own DVD player (and im assuming they get a TV to go with it other wise it's a bit redundant
) i'm even told they have access to their own mobile phones...(in their cells) go figure that one out
mean-while the old lady they may have mugged finds herself alone no longer able to leave the house for fear of a repeat performance- and spends the last few years of her life in abject misery and fear...
yes we have a hugely inhumane justice system...
IMO the only possible answer would be to insitute compulsory full time education in prisons...lets see them play truant and or not complete their homework with a gaurd standing behind them....they probably hated school ..so not only is it an apt punishment it allso stands some sort of chance of rehabilitating them....they say prisons are a "colledge of crime"
ok lets accept the colledge element but change the course work and education...every kid has to under-go compulsory full time education
so let the "tough nuts" (and lets face that's how they view them selves:rotfl: ) cope with the same difficulties every other kid has to face...only this time the "tough nuts" will have no where to run and no-where to hide..
yes Mr Blair "education education education" you know what to do...use the old 1950's educational system and discipline (you've seen the TV show now live the movie
)....
5 years of that and a reasonable percentage of them will be "reformed"
