If I remember right they use 50 rounds per gun if room permits. Also on some of those ships you may have noticed streams of water spraying up, they install water pumps inside them to try and keep them floating while getting pumped full of holes. There's some groups not far from me that did this stuff for a while, they build models, mount the electronics, pumps, and guns, then head out to the pond and fight! They would stay in the shallow water so after a ship is sunk they could wade in the water and pick it up after the round is over. Usually took two rounds or more before any ships were sunk, between rounds you could reload but no patch jobs allowed. Also there were a lot of limits as gentlemen to agree not to go faster than a set speed and to not equip their ships with full auto guns or something like that.
