Well I've been there when I was stationed in Germany. And while I will not demean Austria and Germany as a nice place, I will say there's no way I would move there permanently. My standard of living is actually better where I'm currently at here in California, USA. I did enjoy my stay there, but I'm glad to be back home in the USA and wouldn't trade it for anything.  |
I liked California enough (the parts of it I visited) that its one of the few places outside Canada I'd consider moving too (others are nice climate wise, etc, but I'm too old to learn another language or live as a perpetual tourist)... but only after the current lunatics in charge are replaced.
But its so expensive there that from a purely pragmatic point of view its unlikely in either case (but definitely another visit sometime soon).
