.... but it didn't raise much response.
If we work on the theory that game marketeers move in fashions then WW1 seems long overdue. Previously WW2 has always been the most fertile ground for game designs with FP Shooters being dominated by Normandy and naval sims by the Atlantic. More recently shooters have “done” Vietnam and naval games moved to the Pacific.
WW1 is perhaps the next big thing – witness the upcoming “Shells of Fury” … who knows.
A WW1 Uboat sim has been in development for quite some time now of course – see Deamon’s indie project “Imperial Uboat Flotilla 1914-18” . This is likely to be a full bells and whistles thing but it won’t be coming out for a while yet.
