Kpt.Munson & Steed. You've really gone & done it now! For my past sins I married an American and came to live here in Rhode Island. Although it has occasionally crossed my mind (and was summarly ignored) your posts have me yearning again! I miss the following:
1) REAL fish & chips.
2) Beer. REAL beer; not this Bud or Anheuser lager stuff that passes for beer here
3) Haggis.
4) Cornish Pasties
5) Steak & Kidney Pudding, or pie
6) Bread. Any bread. Be it Warburtons, Mother's Pride or whatever. American loaves are possibly the worst in the world (and I've been around a bit)
7) Bacon that actually has the "eye" meat still in place. Bacon here has it removed. Think "Streaky Bacon" and that's as good as it gets.
The list is goes on, but now I need to visit a cookery website to drool over images of food & drink no longer available! On the other hand, of course, I
could go and do myself a nice thick steak. Nah - I'd rather have a Steak Pud with chips. Anyone here want to mail me a care-package?
What was this thread about again? Oh yeah. Sorry for digressing from submarine warfare!
