I once hit a random TF somewhere near the Azores that was pretty small size-wise, but still mean...5 C-Class DD's and an Illustrious CV. Since the CV was too grand a target to let steam away, I launched a 4-tube salvo at her, all at about 1m below keel (glassy seas). All four hit, but she refused to go down! After wrestling with the DD's (and sinking two with the aft tubes), I fired again at the CV...with the SAME RESULT! I had to keep dodging the &@*%ing C-classes and follow the CV...for half an hour...then it finally went down Aaaaaand...then I got depth-charged by all 3 remaining DD's simultaneously...
