Out of nowhere a little girl at the end of the table had an arrow through her head from the top and out her lower jaw and stuck into the table. She was killed instantly. My parents swooped me up and ran me into the house and the rescue squad came and pronounce her dead at the scene. Turned out that some stupid kid a few doors down was launching arrows up at the sky trying to hit flying birds with them. The boy of course didn't get maximum punishment that an adult would have and went off to a junvenille prison system. That was over 25 years ago so the punishments were a bit less severe for accidental deaths. We moved out of that area by that next summer.

Well ,arrows have a lot more mass than bullets and therefore once the velocity is spent a bullet falling out of the sky is far less likely to produce a serious injury, but on the whole you are correct. It's a stupid and dangerous thing to do.
