I do the same, and will do for SHIV. However, my reason is different: This gives time for the development and release of the patches that will render the inevitable game-ruining bugs harmless. In fact, I did not purchase SHIII for nearly four months after it's release, allowing for patch 1.4b. I did not regret my decision, nor do I have plans to alter it, for as good as SHIII was, not enough time has elapsed to rid me of the memories of the horrendous Silent Hunter II/Destroyer Command debacle. Live and learn.
