Personally I prefer GW for the graphics and gameplay. I like a challenge as much as the next many but I play for fun not to punish myself and I find some of the pure realism mods a little frustrating or limiting because of removal of some of the little features that give you a helping hand occasionally or things like switching off the external cammera.
I like to be able to move around the environment when someing exciting is happening around me and take a look at it for example. There are times when I don't have the time or inclination to have to do all the TDC calculations myself. There are times when I do it but I like being able to switch when I get sick of the math.
All in all it will always come down to personal choice. My best recommendation is to get hold of a few and give them a try. You are sure to find one that suits you and if it's not exactly what you want there are sure to be more mods you can add to it to make it more "your" type of game.
