here's the girl in the passport debacle & linky
So shocking and offensive, but then we all know how muslim men cannot keep their hands off women and young girls - I jest here, but there's many a truth spoken as such; it was my understanding that this was one of the reasons for muslim women to 'cover up' so the men would not have to be trusted with restraining themselves and their more pressing urges.
Though to be fair:
Quote:
A spokesman for the Passport Service said it was not policy to reject applications with bare shoulders.
'The guidance set out on the application form doesn't include it, this picture should have been absolutely fine,' she added. 'The Post Office has its rules and we can't comment on that.'
A Post Office spokesman said: 'Our offices have a Passport Office template which says what the photograph should and shouldn't be.
'Bare shoulders don't come into that at all. We can't see any instruction to that effect so all we can do is apologise to Mrs Edwards. It was clearly a mistake made by the clerk.
'It is the first time we have heard of such a rejection and we will take it up with that particular office.
I know this article and its content do not really have anything to do with muslims per sey - it is not instigated by any demands from them, but the postoffice clerk who rejected the picture. All the same though I'm increasingly concerned by all of this bending over a barrel and spreading those collective cheeks wide for the benefit of all and sundry at the expense of 'our' liberty and freedoms, as obviously somebody elses 'right' is more right than my own.
Possibly more worrying is that some of our own are at the forefront of this abdication of values for the benefit of every niche oppinion and belief to be taken into consideration and given status above and beyond that of every other ordinary bugger that lives in this country. Meh.
