Yes they sold Virgin island to USA and some other small country. But Greenland is different. It is a part of Denmark and Greenland has some kind of autonomous self-government.
There are some steps which has to be taken before Trump can buy Greenland. First of all the Danish government have to say yes to give Greenland their own ruling of their country. Then there has to be a referendum at least in Greenland and perhaps in Denmark too. All this may take years, so USA could be the owner of Greenland after 2030 or so.
