I sort of do this too, but instead of just leaving fishing ships alone I attack them with my deck gun by shooting out there propellers/engine (Only 1 or 2 shots) and pull up beside it and stay there for a few minutes "helping them" on there way off the ship... then once there "gone" I finish off the ship with my deck gun
