I have the U-111, still lucky in 1941, the official records show:

Sunk 4 Oct, 1941 south-west of Tenerife, in position 27.15N, 20.27W, by depth charges from the British anti-submarine trawler HMS Lady Shirley. 8 dead and 44 survivors.

but I am in august, so I am sweating right now..
