I should point out that the colors and possibly resolution getting messed up with an alt-tab was a common bug with MANY full-screen games compatible with Windows 9X.
The Win95 "Collector's Edition" of X-com and MechCommander off the top of my head, but I have at least half a dozen more with the same bug.
