Umm dont quote me on this, but I think to do away with the single contacts you'd need to edit the campaign files, find all the single ships and set report times(?) to Zero.
As to the tails on convoy Icons, its part of the TGA file so all you need do is find it, delete tail in Paintshop Pro or some such an bobs ya uncle.
