My small time compression strategy:
When in "friendly" waters and out of reach of enemy planes use max compression time for quick cruise.
In enemy territory waters 256 at nite and 128 during the day.
When in patrol area and crossing English Channel 64.
Than at 64 I suggest to tge 2 cups of coffe and one cup of patience and a good book
