Re; the GOP response to the SOTU speech; when it came on, my first reaction was "Oh look, the GOP is using an AI avatar..."; then,upon realizing it was indeed a real human (or at least I think she was), my thoughts went to Stepford Wives as a possible basis for what I was seeing...
The fact the GOP has seemingly wanted the US voters to just forget the rebuttal even happened is an indication of just how far afield of the intended aim the whole thing went; from the very first moments, the fact that the rebuttal would be a prime source material for an SNL send up was glaringly obvious, and SNL did not disappoint...
...and, yes, that is Scarlett Johansson portraying Katie Britt in the sketch (she is married to SNL head writer Colin Jost)...
