I forgot to mention..
Last Tuesday I saw an RC-135 flying low over town, on its way to Des Moines.
RC-135's are colloquially known as
Rivet Joint aircraft although that code word died out in the 1990's. You can tell the difference between one and a KC-135 mostly by the large black nose and the different paint scheme.
We sold some of them to the UK several years ago.
They are home-based at Offutt AFB.
They (and the E-4's) don't take off without a really good reason.
Granted, this could have been a part of that cell phone EAM test but like I said, those aircraft don't take off without a really good reason.
