Myself, when caught in such sad windmills of the mind, I find guidance in stoicism. What must happen, one day will happen. However, we must not be ahead of the event in our mind. Enjoy the time there is left until then, grab it, embrace it, dont let go. And whatever there may be left to say between you two, speak it out now. If you miss the last chance to do so, you will regret it for the entire rest of your life. Thats unneeded.
