You should try this series. They're a different approach to strategy gaming, but strangely fun. Very abstract as compared to your typical strategy game. And cheap.

I picked up Cauldrons of War: Barbarossa and Cauldrons of War: Stalingrad as a package for $16.78 today. They're definitely worth the price.
