Agreed. I'd love to drive British boats or German destroyers, but playing a Japanese DD wouldn't be my thing. Though, from a surface aspect, it would be fun to play both parts of Savo Island.
But Japanese ASW is atrocious anyway, I can't imagine it would be much fun.
