That inkling would be incorrect. The insurgency in Iraq is all about Sunnis trying to jostle for a better place in the post-Baathist Iraq against ethnic groups who have no love for them. Why do you think they attack their fellow Iraqis far more often than they do coalition troops? Why do you think they attack Shiite mosques which have nothing to do with the US?
As for Hezbollah, they're just a puppet of Syria (also controlled by Baathists BTW) and Iran, both of who have been fighting an undeclared war against the evil Zionists for decades.
All of Israels incursions into southern Lebanon have been in response to attacks from that area. Google Operation Litani from way back in 1978.
