That these staunch patriots cannot synthesize any better counter-argument than to reject all criticism as unintellectual bashing is itself as bad as what is being implied. Plus whats so surprising about seeing a thread about world politics and events become about the US? Isn't the US heavily involved in alot of the stuff that happens in the Mid-East? Being the world superpower tends to lead to that. However that also means that alot of people are going tobe critical. SO whats wrong with that? All I see here is a bunch of blind patriots being petulant because they don't like their ignorant beliefs in Manifest Destiny being challenged and don;t want to have to actually justify them.

Oh please! Get off your high horse already! Why don't you look at Canada as an example? We can go on about them for ages as well (My wife is Canadian - I'll have to beat up Canada when she is not looking however!

We can start with the Le Québec Wa if you want - which is where I assume you are from by the way you talk, or at least East Coast Canada. West coast is too passive). Turn you sights on China, France, or any other country and you will find issues with all of them. The US is not perfect, but we don't take kindly to people blowing up our buildings, so deal with it. You could have the Soviet Union as your last remaining Super Power right now and they should have already walked across your border and made you part of it already.
