Default Awareness

Very good video. Thank you for that link.

Awareness is a very curious thing. In my youth I spent countless hours, days, weeks, months trying to find out what awareness, reality and life was all about. I even went as far as spending 2 months at Zen Mountain Monastery in upstate New York. You would pay the good monks $2000 and they let you sweep cabins and not speak while there. All very dramatic.

I experimented with Ketamine (amongst other things) and the whole "K-hole" experience, and though interesting, it certainly was not some great revelation for me.

Is consciousness stored at the the cellular level? the molecular level? Sub quantum level? Or when we die, and brain function seizes, does awareness fade into nothingness and we are "just gone". Does it matter, really?

This subject is very interesting, but it pains me to see so many people nowadays feeling a need to constantly "seek". To needing to know things, we really can't know. I did that as a young person. Trying to equate experiences to living, and that never works.

All this stems from one thing; our human fear of death. People hate it when things "end", and sadly, this is just attachment, and it is quite hard to overcome.

If you enjoy this stuff I recommend:

It's called "Ram Dass, Going Home". It is available on Netlix I believe.
It is excellent, be even Ram Dass struggles with attachment.
