Agreed, the studio really dug deep to make what could best be called an "oddities" movie. I'm pretty certain they called in George Pal to create the Loch Ness Monster scene.

Defiantly worth seeing, at least once. Also, one of Barbara Eden's early efforts.

I've been studying SAC since the days when I grew up near Loring AFB. They had a very different work culture compared to the rest of the Air Force.
By the 1950's, SAC had its own office inside the US Congress. They lobbied for more funding constantly and were always ready to twist some arms when it was needed. If the Air Force as a whole got more funding, that was just a by-product.
