You could end up with extremely bad weather a few days out and have it for the complete voyage. I've seen it happen to me using 1024 TC. Not a great thing to have happen especially if you run into a convoy and have heavy rain and fog. Granted they won't see you, a good thing, but you'll have a hell of a time seeing them too.
I'm in that mess right now..... not a good thing. Don't get me wrong..... bad weather is good for you but not for the whole patrol.
