In conclusion, this meta-analysis of more than 400 million doses of vaccines suggests that the overall incidence of myopericarditis following COVID-19 vaccination is similar to that in the published literature on its incidence after influenza vaccination, and is lower than the incidence after live smallpox vaccination. The incidence of myopericarditis in younger males after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination is higher than expected by comparison with other age groups.
