They're not hidden, they're just blurred and dark.
While original image was just an "above the waterline" sil, really accurate, i just added the under the waterline part in order to give the dimension of the draft and considering the shape of the hull, but with no great details, really blurred, because this part isn't normally visible.
Most of real recognition manual of the time did not even show the submerged part:
